What is a
Licensed Fiduciary?
You might be more familiar with the common terms that refer to a fiduciary, such as: Trustee, Executor, Estate Administrator, Personal Representative, Conservator, or Guardian.
A fiduciary accepts responsibility for taking care of the personal or financial needs of another person. Fiduciary duties depend on whether services are provided for a deceased person or someone still living.
How often do you provide an accounting?
In court supervised cases we will provide the accountings as scheduled by the court. In cases without court supervision we provide an annual report. In complex situations we have a third-party CPA prepare the reports.
Are you insured for errors and omissions?
Yes, we have a general liability insurance policy that includes coverage for error and omissions. We also will secure an individual surety bond when asked to do so by the court or the client.
What do you charge for your services?
We charge an hourly rate for our fiduciary services. This rate may vary depending on the services you need. During our consultation process when we understand what services you need; we will describe our fees in detail.
Why would I use a Professional Fiduciary instead of a family member?
Many times, family dynamics make it difficult to administer the trust directives. Sometimes family members are not able to shoulder the record keeping and accounting that is necessary with an estate or trust or provide court required bonds. We take the burden off the family members and let them focus on being a family.
When do you need us?
Licensed professional fiduciaries may be engaged to serve by agreement in life planning documents such as Wills and Trusts, or they may be appointed by the probate court to serve in any of the above functions.
